Susanne Coffman is my good friend, and she’s also a friend to so many in our community. On December 11, 2025, Susanne faced a devastating loss when her beloved horse, Phaeton, became gravely ill. She did everything possible, rushing him to the Equine Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he underwent extensive diagnostic procedures. Despite all efforts, her heart horse could not be saved and had to be euthanized. The heartbreak of losing him has been compounded by a large veterinary bill, almost $6000, a heavy burden for someone who has always worked hard and relied on no one but herself. As many of you know, Sue is a rescuer and has many rescue dogs. Some of which have required major, costly veterinary intervention over the past several months. She has simply exhausted all funds and is not in a good financial state.
Susanne is one of the most generous people I know. She’s spent years helping others, from transporting animals at no cost to rescuing countless creatures in need. She gives selflessly, never asking for anything in return. Now, she finds herself in a position where she needs help, both emotionally and financially. It was not easy for her to agree to this fundraiser, but the reality of her situation has left her with few options.
I am reaching out to all who know and love Sue, and to anyone moved by her story, to please consider making a donation. Your support will go directly toward her veterinary bill at the University of Florida. Even a small contribution can make a big difference. Let’s come together to show Susanne the same kindness and generosity she has shown to so many others. Thank you for your compassion and support.
