Help Survivors of the Philippines Typhoon Rebuild

Donation protected
Hello. My name is Mikol Tsopnang. I am a senior at UW-Madison and a Filipina-black woman. All of my family in Sogod Southern Leyte, their neighbors, and their communities have had their lives and homes destroyed by the typhoon. All proceeds from this GoFundMe will be sent directly to community members in the Philippines for food, water, medical supplies, and materials to rebuild their homes, boats, and other crucial parts of their lives that were lost, damaged, or destroyed in the storm.

On Thursday, December 16th, 2021, super Typhoon Rai (known locally in the Philippines as Odette) made landfall as a Category 5 storm. The reality of the typhoon exceeded all predictions and has cut thousands of people off from help due to the destruction. Hundreds of thousands of people are still without electricity or communication infrastructure. There have already been nearly 400 confirmed deaths, over 500 injured, over 55 people officially reported missing, and these numbers continue to increase. Super Typhoon Rai is reported to be one of the strongest typhoons to hit the Philippines in the 21st century. The damage and carnage caused has permanently altered the lives of those affected. You can see a few images of some of the damage below. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
