Who are we -
We are the Alberta Women’s Ski Team, 8 high-performance athletes with a common love for our sport, and each other. We are all pursuing our World Cup, Olympic, and NCAA dreams together. The 8 athletes on the Alberta Women’s Ski Team make our team the premier Women’s ski team in Canada.
Our Story -
Before our 2022 season has even started we are facing a huge uphill battle…We need to fundraise $30000 to help pay for coaching, training, travel, racing, and more due to the difficulties in fundraising for the Alberta Ski Team, which has had a huge negative impact on the Team.
This leaves the financial burden on us, the athletes, to help raise the money to keep our dream alive. Without these funds, this leaves a considerable personal expense to us and our families. Now that we have to self-fund for these racing costs it adds additional pressure, stress, and uncertainty.
Our Future -
We are 8 very strong and proud, like-minded women. Collectively we work 12 jobs in the off-season while also going to school and training between the 8 of us to help fund and pursue our dreams.
We don’t want to stop raising awareness with just this GO FUND ME Campaign, we are now looking at how the 8 of us can be role models and leaders to ensure the next generation of girls can pursue their dreams not just in ski racing but any sport. By saving our season, it'll get us that much closer to being on the world stage to help advocate for equality in sport.
Where is the Money Going?-
100% of the money raised is going towards coaching, training, traveling, racing costs. Our ultimate goal is to create a foundation so any money over our goal will go towards funding and supporting other women athletes that are struggling financially.
