Hi Matiox family!
We hope you and your families are healthy and safe. All of our team is doing well at this time and we would like to thank everyone who has gotten in touch to check in on us or with words of encouragement.
Antigua is beautiful as always, but it is oddly quiet, due to the current pandemic. Guatemala’s government issued travel bans and a curfew since March, which despite keeping our country’s Covid-19 cases at bay, unfortunately have left our town with virtually no tourism.
This is why we reach out to you for help. We have been able to support our team so far, but knowing that things won’t go back to normal in the near future, we have decided we are going to need as much help as possible to keep our staff and their families afloat.
We’re currently exploring other means of helping the Matiox crew, but thought of creating this campaign for those who would like to help us through donations. The entirety of the funds will be used to continue supporting our team. We’re currently housing some of our staff members at Matiox, so your donations not only cover the team’s wages but also the hostel’s essentials for them.
We know these are tough times for everyone, so we really appreciate anything you might be able to send our way. If you can’t donate at this time, please consider sharing this with your travel friends.
