Hello family, friends, and those who may have stumbled across this page:
My sister, Sarah, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer (DCIS with invasion). Although this cancer is treatable, we know there will be a difficult battle ahead of her and her family with surgeries and treatments. Sarah and her husband Zak have two small children, Cove, age 4, and Sloane, age 2. Just like every busy mom, she spends her days juggling work, taking the kids to preschool, on play dates, and other various activities. During this battle, she will be unable to work, and will be unable to care for her kids the way they are all accustomed to. Along with the growing medical bills, the day-to-day living expenses will remain the same, with now only one income. She is scheduled to have a double mastectomy in just a few short weeks, with the possibility of radiation and/or chemo treatments, plus more surgeries for reconstructive purposes.
As you can see, it’s going to be a long difficult road ahead for my sister and her family. My family and I want to keep Sarah as stress-free as possible to be able to focus on her recovery; however, the idea of the growing bills, and if the family will be able to afford them, are mind boggling for both my sister and her husband. This is the last thing that my sister would ever want but we are reaching out hoping that you may be able please make a donation and/or share this page to help my sister and her family in their time of need.
