Support the McNally Family

Throughout his life, Mike has always been a worker. Even at the age of 8, he was able to purchase his own motorcycle with the money he earned!  As a testament to his dedication to family, Mike took on three jobs so his wife, Sheila, could help others. In 1997, Sheila and another mother started a center to support local parents of children with special needs. Their beginnings turned into support groups, local meetings, and place to connect to resources. Sheila's center rooted from their experience raising a child with special needs. Their son Matt is outgoing, social, and proud of his autism!

In January of 2017, Mike suffered a stroke and through testing, discovered he had Stage 3 lung cancer. He endured chemotherapy treatments and eventually had a lung removed on August 15. To the surprise of his doctors, Mike returned to work in October. He knew he had to fight because their savings had been depleted to pay medical and household bills. The McNallys were hoping to chip away at the debts from this health scare when they received some more difficult news.

Last Sunday, Mike suddenly began having seizures and was rushed to the hospital. Intubation, numerous tests, and uncertainty filled the next few days. The tests revealed that Mike had lesions on his brain, causing swelling that resulted in seizures. Cancer has now spread to his brain, creating those lesions. He was moved to a rehabilitation center because he is not able to walk independently. The family is having a consultation on Wednesday to discuss removing the lesions with radiation. 

As most of us know, the emotional difficulty is not the only one to endure during these times. The insurance premiums were doubled up and this past Friday was the last double check to make up for the time that he was out of work. Disability coverage can only do so much. Supporting Mike, Sheila, and Matt through donations will help ease the burden of their hardships.

We're not sure what the future holds for Mike and the McNally family, but we're here to support them with whatever they need!
