Help support the Anderson Family

Donation protected
Robert Anderson was a 37 year old man from Pottsville, New South Wales who recently had a major heart attack. He was in an induced coma for a period of time before losing his fight for life and passing away. Rob was the sole provider for his family.

This campaign aims to relieve some of the financial burden on the family caused by medical expenses, accomodation, funeral costs, mortgage repayments and general living expenses. We would like to give his wife Morgan the opportunity to grieve and complete her studies, without stressing about money.

About Rob and his family:
Rob was the beloved husband of Morgan and father of two young children: Josh (14 years) and Taylor (8 years).  Josh is a keen soccer player and gamer. Taylor loves the outdoors and her Ballet.

He had two siblings, Jason and Paul. He was the youngest of the three. Jason and Rob shared a special bond and also look quite alike. Jason lives in Victoria, but they always kept in contact and were there for each other in hard times.

A plumber by trade, Rob would often do weekend work to increase the family coffers so the family could have dinners out and nice clothing to wear.

"Do your best and silicone the rest" -- Robert Anderson

Morgan is a bit of a brainiac and wanted to study teaching full time. Rob was very supportive of Morgans desire for a career and saw the long term financial benefits, however this left the family with only one income source. The loss of Rob will make it very difficult for Morgan to complete her studies, which is another reason why donations are so important to this families cause.

Like the typical bloke, Rob loved a drink, fishing, playing computer games, hunting and having a crack at the pokies.

"Rob was the pinnacle of a man; a gentleman; a fantastic father and a great provider." -- Benjamin Prichard

You could often find Rob with a beer and a mate or five at one of his local watering holes: Pottsville Tavern, Pottsville Bowls Club and Seagulls ('The Gulls').  With a beer in hand and a spring in his step he would say 'Pineapples?', requesting the boys to throw a $50 note in each; which they would never refuse. One day at 'The Gulls' Rob observed a drunk woman performing some vicious screen swipes with her hand (prior to touch screens).  He observed her for quite some time before mastering the dark art of the screen swipe. From that day, Rob never told any stories of losing money, only winning*.

"It's like Rob has magic fingers. What's with the screen swipe? He just went max bet, wtf. I thought he would have picked 'Indian Dreaming'. How did he pick the correct machine?"  -- Jeff Lindsay

He loved his fishing.. Did he what. Rob was a 'master angler'** and often*** fed his family from the bountiful haul**** of fish he would catch off the beach in Pottsville. He could hook fish without even holding the rod.

"He hooked the Jewfish when his rod was laying in the sand and reeled it in whilst drinking a beer. It was a phenomenal display of pure skill, I've never seen anything like it. It's like he had three hands" --Adam Gabriel

Rob loved his computer games. He often played Super Mario Wii with his son Josh. He was addicted to the old school games: Final Fight, Mario Bros, Street Fighter, Mortal Combat and Megaman to name a few.

"When Rob played computer games it was like he merged with the controller and became one. He once completed Mario Bros using Luigi" --Jason Anderson

"It seemed like it was Robs first time everytime he played a game with me. Just kidding, I flogged him in Mortal Combat every time with Kung Lao though" -- Morgan Anderson

"Rob never used fast travel in skyrim. It was like he was better than that." -- Benjamin Prichard

"Nords for life" -- Robert Anderson, Karina Prichard

Rob was hard at work in Burleigh, on scaffolding when he had his heart attack. The elevated location where he was working made it difficult to move him quickly enough for staff aparamedics to provide CPR in time. Rob sufferred oxygen starvation to his brain, resulting in major brain damage.

We are very thankful to everyone involved that did everything they possibly could on the day and are so grateful for your efforts that gave us the opportunity to say goodbye to him in person. The ICU staff at the Gold Coast University hospital did a fantastic job and we could not have asked for a higher level of professionalism and care for Rob. He was in very good hands.

Rob will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. He was the pinnacle of what a husband, father, brother, son and friend should be.
