Hero's Against Heroin

Where do you turn when you hit rock bottom? This is an agonizing question that thousands of individuals in our own backyard of Toledo and surrounding cities have to ask far too often. While it is not the only abused drug on our streets, heroin is one of the most recognizable epidemics in our area today.


Far too many good people have had their lives derailed by this horrible drug, and Team Recovery is at the forefront of the effort to save lives. Team Recovery is a non- profit, 501c3 charitable organization that is in the trenches battling addiction. Instead of looking at addicts as simply liabilities, Matt, Juan and other members of this courageous group look at addicts as opportunities. Team Recovery conducts meetings and outreach programs aimed at rehabilitating individuals that are caught in the suffocating grip of addiction.


One of the easiest groups of people to overlook, though, are the family members and loved ones of the person struggling with addiction. There is no instruction booklet that tells a parent how to react when they find out that their precious child has succumbed to addiction. This is why Team Recovery has developed FAAD (Family After Addiction or Death), special meetings designed to help loved ones not only understand more about addiction, but also equip them with knowledge that allows them to support and encourage an addict in an effort to change lives.


This is only one of the many awesome services that Team Recovery offers, but it is an extremely important one. We are raising funds to help Team Recovery not only continue these meetings, but also help them expand the reach they have.
