Help Support Tanya's Leukemia Fight

Friends, Family and Kindhearted Strangers,
This GoFundMe is being created to help Tanya Businelle and her loving husband Douglas Businelle Jr. If you know these two amazing people you know the difficult journey they have been faced with since May of 2023. We are wanting to use this GoFundMe to help them with the hard times they are facing due to them both fighting their own round of cancer. They will be able to use what is raised to help with medical treatments, endless appointments and unforeseen expenses.
In May of 2023 Douglas was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He began radiation treatments shortly after. He worked his entire battle as a full-time crane operator doing the best he could. Unfortunately, the time off for appointments, treatments, and days he could hardly pick up his head took a toll mentally, physically and financially. Thankfully on September 20, 2023, he got to ring the bell and was cancer free.
The celebration was short lived. Just nine days later Tanya fell seriously ill and was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) where she stayed fighting for her life for 5 straight weeks. After she was discharged, she was having to go three to four times a week to get blood, platelets, and lab work. She also had to go and would stay in the hospital for a week at a time every six weeks. On May 14, 2024, she finally rang the bell and was in remission.
This celebration was also short lived as the cancer came back but was caught in time. She restarted chemo and went back into remission and is currently awaiting a bone marrow transplant which is scheduled for April 15, 2025. She is having to have procedures done that are a requirement to being cleared for the transplant. Unfortunately, insurance is only paying for a small amount of the cost. If she doesn’t get this done before the transplant date, she could lose her one in a million-chance donor for a cure.
Our biggest concern at this very moment is getting their house caught up on payments and one of her molars that must be pulled and completely healed before April 8th which is going to take $800. If you find it in your heart to donate know it is so very appreciated. This transplant is the ONLY way she will ever be cured. If you feel in your heart to donate know that we as a family appreciate it and will forever be grateful. If you can’t donate just sharing this GoFundMe and getting it seen will help tremendously.
Thank you from the Businelle family!
