Help Tammy Fight For Her Life

Donation protected
It is with great urgency that we who dearly love Tammy, Barry and their girls are asking for your help, not only by keeping them in your prayers but also by OFFERING FINANCIAL SUPPORT so that Tammy CAN HAVE ANY AND ALL TREATMENTS necessary to save her life. Tammy is a wonderful, loving wife, mother of two very special daughters, Katie Habel and Sofie Simpson. Tammy is the daughter of Dan and Linda Gwinn of Bristolville. Sofie is a Howland Middle School student and Katie graduated from Maplewood High School in 2012. Tammy lived in Mecca for 27 years before moving to Howland. A couple of months ago she became ill suddenly and after undergoing many extensive tests has been diagnosed with MDS-RAEB1, a type of blood cancer that, left untreated, will quickly progress into AML (Acute Myleoid Leukemia).  AML is a terminal diagnosis that moves very rapidly.  Currently the only hope for Tammy is a bone marrow-stem cell transplant IF she is able to get to that step. It is the only known cure for her cancer. Tammy has chromosonal abnormalities that have caused Tammy's cancer to mutate into it's own form of the cancer, making it hard to treat and adding to the stress. The doctors have put Tammy on medications and regular injections to help raise her blood levels in preparation for chemotherapy. As you can imagine this has blindsided Tammy and Barry and all those who love them.  Now more than ever they need a strong support system of family and friends and all of our communities to help them stand strong against the unrelenting adversary that they have come up against, cancer!  Sharing their story is outside of their comfort zone but they understand that the only way through this is by humbly accepting all of our help.  Aside from the out-of-pocket expenses they will incur with treatments, there are so many other expenses that they will need financial assistance with such as travel, food, hotels and the normal expenses to keep the household running. Tammy is unable to work and resigned from her job at Howland Schools. Every encouraging message and random acts of kindness have truly been appreciated beyond words and we want to thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts for your CONTRIBUTION TO HER GOFUNDME ACCOUNT.  Please feel free to share Tammy's story so we can provide her the support she so desperately needs. Rachael Flannery is the team manager and started the GOFUNDME.COM page but the Benoit's are the beneficiaries who will receive the donations.
