<div>Darrell’s former student designed the gate that stood after the 2025 Eaton Canyon Fire! Justin’s favorite swim stroke was the butterfly. “ It made him feel free,” he once wrote.
We are not alone on this journey that has been life-altering, life-changing, and, for some, life-ending. I know we are all in shock dealing with a natural response to a loss that will have no timeline or method of dealing. We are all connected and in shock; this destruction aftermath will be with us forever. I thank everyone — friends, family, and strangers- for all your compassion during these challenging days.<br />

In a matter of moments, their lives were irrevocably changed and their strongest remaining connections to their dear son Justin were destroyed and hollowed out.
