Three nights ago, my niece, Braeja, was the victim of gun violence in Portland, Oregon. She was shot in the stomach, rushed into emergency surgery, and had parts of her intestines and bowels removed. At first, she showed small signs of improvement, but her vitals crashed, and she was moved to the ICU. Now, her condition is critical, and her mother, Shauna, is facing the unimaginable—watching her daughter fight for her life.

Shauna has already endured so much. She lost her brother just six months ago, her grandmother last month, and her mother is also battling illness. Despite all this, she has always shown up when others needed her, including me. Now, she needs our help.

Shauna is driving over an hour each way to be by Braeja’s side. She's missing work and struggling with expenses while navigating the hardest days of her life. Donations will go toward:
