Reynaluz, the heart of the International District Community in Albuquerque, passed suddenly yesterday. Her family and all community that knew and loved Reyna are devastated. As I write this, I am still in disbelief that she is gone...

The love this woman gave is immeasurable. Golden. Truly a Queen of Light. Her laughter, fire, vision, and truthtelling brought needed change to the community she served each and every day. She is Mama to Alicia, Eloisa, and Julian. Loving wife to Larries. Community Schools Coordinator at Whittier Elementary, Coordinator of the IDHCC and Many Hands Cooperative. Lover of children, Mama Tierra, of gathering with people in celebration, giving food, a little (or a lot of) time, a hug, a listening ear.

 

This fundraiser is to support Reynaluz's family during this time. They will need help with the astronomical costs of funeral expenses and the mortgage, bills, and food costs during the time of their mourning. Please support the family of this mujer who dedicated her life to the community's success and well-being...one bag of food, one kind smile, one joke, one hug, un paso a la vez....
