Help Support Ottawa ICU Staff During COVID

This fundraising effort is to support Ottawa nurses in the ICU by providing meal delivery to the staff on a given shift. Depending on how much money we are able to raise we're hopeful that we can provide this simple act of kindness for as many Ottawa ICU nurses as possible.
These people are sacrificing a great deal to provide vital care to members of our community. They are already exhausted, having battled this pandemic for over a year, and now the worsening crisis has left them an even more dire situation.
They are short staffed, often feeling completely burnt out, and risking their own health for us. Some of the nurses on the ICU involved in the direct care of COVID-19 patients have actually only received one dose of the vaccine.
With that in mind, it is our hope that by raising money to provide meal delivery to ICU staff we can raise their spirits (at least a little) during a difficult shift and show them how much their community appreciates and values their incredible contributions.
We plan to start with the ICU at Montfort Hospital because we have a close friend who is working there, but with a bit of luck and support from our friends, we hope to be able to continue to provide meals to ICU staff across across the city.
We know this is but a small act of kindness, but sometimes, in the face of a daunting challenge, it is those tangible moments of encouragement from those around you, that help you to the finish line.
To all our front line health care workers : We cannot imagine what you are going through. We are so sorry that you have to go through it, and we are so thankful that you're willing to.
