Hello everyone! My name is Makenzie and I have created a GoFundMe to raise funds for my upcoming knee surgery.

On 1/26/25 I was enjoying my Sunday morning playing a game of pickle ball with family and friends when suddenly a lunge step with my right leg sent me straight to the ground. An MRI on 2/3/25 showed a torn AND flipped meniscus and a torn ACL, which both require surgery. This has been scheduled for 2/20/25.

I am grateful to have insurance coverage but as most of us know, it only helps cover part of medical costs if they cover anything at all. My out of pocket cost is estimated at this time to be $5,635.00, due prior to surgery. In addition, post surgery I’ll have to pay the rental fee of $200/week for a knee brace/CPM Device because my insurance will not cover it unless a total knee replacement is done. This device is required by my surgeon for recovery yet my insurance will not agree to cover it.

I am unable to be at work on crutches and am on short term disability for 10 weeks. I am blessed with a lot of support from friends and family but it’s going to be a rough ride for the next few weeks.
