Nicole contracted Covid 19 July 1st and her world has been turned upside down. She was in the hospital for a week diagnosed with Covid 19, bilateral pneumonia and sepsis. Once released, she required bi weekly nurses appointments to her home. She was on oxygen for a month after being discharged.
Nicole started experiencing numbness in my right arm which required rehabilitation therapy at Brooks Rehab.
We all thought she was getting better but she continued to have terrible headaches. Her doctors ordered an MRI which discovered she had swollen ventricles and an obstruction in the brain. She went to one neurosurgeon and he put in a pressure monitor. That brain surgery was 9/29/2020. That surgery did not help. Nicole has since switched all her care to Mayo Clinic. She has met with a phenomenal doctor who immediately diagnosed her condition as Aqueductal Stenosis with Hydrocephalus. Nicole now requires another brain surgery 12/16/2020 to drain the fluid and make another pathway for the fluid to
flow.
Nicole has exhausted all sick and vacation time with her employer. She has already missed 4 months of work and recently returned to work, and now after 5 weeks of work, she'll be out of work again. Medical expenses and monthly bills are stacking up. She has exhausted her savings. She will not receive any money from her job.
She is proud, strong, determined, and of course hates asking for help. However, she is one of the most generous people I know, and is always the first person to jump in and go an extra mile to help.
With your generosity and with her determination to lead a normal life, she is looking forward to a good healthy future.
