<div>My best friend of 30 yrs has recently had the devastating diagnosis of a Motor neurons disease, which is a wicked and evil disease with no cure.

<div>This has come as a great shock to not only Nickie but also her daughter Ellie, her family, boyfriend, friends and work colleagues.

<div>There is no cure and currently no effective treatments apart from one that will extend her life by 2/3 months.
</div>
<div>Anyone that knows Nickie, will know she’s a fighter and won’t give in to this so has turned to alternative therapies and positive attitude. Along with vitamins she is taking a supplement from America which has had positive feedback from others with this condition and she feels shes noticed an improvement since taking this, it is called Deanna protocol, this doesn’t come cheap though.

<div>Fortunately Nickie’s symptoms are just with her speech and the ability to eat certain foods due to weakening muscles of the tongue and throat, this disease progresses different and at different speeds for each patient with MND.
</div>
<div>Nickie is a strong person and wants to live life to the full and create as many memories with Ellie and her family as well as her boyfriend Mark.
</div>
<div>no one knows how slow or fast this will progress just that it will at some point.
</div>
<div>Nickie is currently off sick from work as waiting the a communication aid to help her speak so that she can get back to the job she loves, caring for others.
</div>
<div>Nickie is taking one day at a time and has the attitude that there is only one way to deal with this with a smile, hope and a positive altitude.
</div>
