Morgan & Wesley’s Infertility Journey
Shortly after a picture-perfect wedding in January 2019, Morgan & Wesley Fisher were eager to start their family. But, for the first two years of marriage they have been batting infertility. After months of unsuccessful tries they sought help from their doctors to begin looking for answers. Initial testing didn’t result in any definite answers, so Morgan & Wes were referred to The Fertility Center in Grand Rapids, to explore further options. As the months went by still without success, Morgan & Wes tried Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) as a first option this past September. After four failed IUI rounds they now need to turn to In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Morgan will also need to undergo a Hysteroscopy prior to IVF, which will aid in the transfer of their embryos. Without this additional step, transferring embryos could be difficult and unsuccessful.
IVF is an expensive process and having already invested over $4,000 into unsuccessful treatments, the Fishers could use help from their friends and family to offset some of the upcoming costs. Their IVF procedure is expected to be, at minimum, $13,800, which is not covered by insurance.
Two years of infertility, combined with the effects of the 2020 pandemic, has put undue stress on what should be a joyous time for this couple. Morgan’s career as an Event Manager, in particular, has been hard hit by closure of gatherings due to the pandemic. So, we are seeking to raise $10,000 to help this deserving couple start their family. They would greatly appreciate any amount of contribution as well as your love and support during this difficult process.
