Help Support Miss Rodeo Hawaii

Aloha!
I am Lorrie Ann Smith your Miss Rodeo Hawaii 2017! I am asking for your support in this endeavor to represent rodeo and agriculture in Hawaii and the nation. I was born and raised on Oahu in Laie, Hawaii. I've grown up on my family's ranch, Gunstock Ranch.  Raising cattle, horses, and operate a horseback riding business, I have lived,  worked, and competed in  the Paniolo lifestyle.

Growing up in a small town in Hawaii has been a blessing. In 2015 I graduated from Kahuku High School. I was also brought up in the  4-H organization raising and showing a variety of livestock animals. Competing for most of my life, has lead me to some high expectations for myself. I spent my childhood competing in the National Junior and High school Rodeo association, and several Hawaii rodeo associations. In 2014-2015 I served as the National High School Rodeo Student Secretary.  As well as being a National high School Rodeo Qualifier.I now attend the University of Montana Western pursuing two degrees in Business Administration, and Natural Horsemanship. I also rodeo on the college team and qualified for the College National Finals this year in the goat tying event.

Everything happens for a reason. For a while in my life I thought that I wouldn't make the cut of becoming a rodeo queen. Not my style I thought. After serving as the National High School Rodeo Student Secretary my senior year of high school. I learned something about myself, how much I love representing my state and being an ambassador for the sport of rodeo and agriculture. This great state has so much to offer. This opportunity of being Miss Rodeo Hawaii has given me the privilege to show people that we are more than palm trees and nice beaches. To show them our rich Paniolo culture of what Living Aloha means. To have love and show love, to people of all walks of life. I’m taking this journey for the chance to serve as a goodwill ambassador for the sport of rodeo and for Hawaii.

I was once told that those who truly change the world are the ones that want to be out in it.  As Miss Rodeo Hawaii that is what I want to do.  I  have loved the opportunity to help others to see that the only thing that separates the agriculture industry and rodeo from the mainland is a bit of water.   I have loved meeting the young kids and helping them to reach for their goals and dreams as well.

In order to represent and fulfill this role as Miss Rodeo Hawaii,  a great deal of financial support is needed. I am humbly asking for any financial support you could offer. No donation is too small.   My expenses include travel, photos, marketing, and attire related to preparing for the Miss Rodeo America pageant that will be held in Las Vegas in December.   Your support and any assistance is so appreciated.   Mahalo for being my family and friends in this adventure.
