Meet sweet baby Miles.
Born with a rare genetic disorder, Apert Syndrome, Miles will face at least 3 major surgeries by the time he is 15 months old.
Apert Syndrome is characterized by premature fusion of bones throughout the body. Miles’ fingers and toes are fused, as well as bones in his skull and face. His first surgery will be to separate some of his fingers and toes.
To schedule his first surgery, the family must pay a minimum of $5000 up front. He also requires a sleep study before his surgery which will cost about $1000. The parents will, of course, have many bills following each surgery. Right now, however, the family is mostly concerned with making sure Miles gets the surgeries he needs when he needs them.
The family just wants to give their baby boy the best chance at a normal life that they can. He will have 2 syndactyly release surgeries (to separate his fingers and toes) 3 months apart starting this May. His third surgery this year, in December, will be to separate certain bones in his skull to help prevent pressure building up on his brain.
The family thanks all of you for taking the time to hear them out, whether you are able to donate or not. They also ask for prayers for Miles and their family. They have a long road ahead of them but know they are in good hands.
