Help Support Melissa’s Battle with Rare & Aggressive Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Amy Hoffman and I’m asking for help for my best friend, Melissa Lewis. She has a very rare and aggressive form of skin cancer on her face that will require multiple trips to Massachusetts Lahey Medical Center for treatment. We met with two of her surgeons yesterday who ordered an MRI to get a better idea of how big the tumor is and they also asked us to meet with her plastic surgeon, prior to her surgery date. There is some concern that the tumor may be affecting her tear ducts and if so, she will require an ocular plastic surgeon. Each of these appointments require a trip to Peabody, MA to the Lahey Clinic and then the trip for the surgery itself. The surgery is so involved that it will take at least two days but it could take three, depending on how deep the cancer is and the schedule of the plastic surgeon. If she has additional issues with her affected eye, she could require additional surgeries in the future as well. If the cancer is near a nerve, she will require radiation. No doubt, this will be a long, up hill battle. If you don’t know Melissa, let me tell you she is tough as nails with a heart of gold. She’s stubborn as all get out and is not a big fan of asking for help… That’s where I come in. The money Melissa receives will go towards gas, tolls, meals, medical supplies/medication, and hotel expenses. If you can and are willing to help us out with these unexpected expenses, from the bottom of my heart Thank You! ♥️ If you are unable to donate at this time, please consider sharing.
