WHY WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR SUPPORT
The closure of all concert halls has had a disproportionate impact on the artistic community.
The Jam Session Association and the Cascais Jazz Club do much more than provide a place dedicated to music and culture: they form part of the social, cultural and FINANCIAL life of many musicians, artists from different areas and specialized technicians, in addition to being an important national cultural center with headquarters in the village of Cascais.
The Jam Session Associação Cultural / CASCAIS JAZZ CLUB does not receive subsidies from official entities and until today it has been financed mainly through donations from those who watch live performances at the institution's headquarters.
As is well known, these events are being canceled across the country.
Whoever is in the artistic environment knows the challenges and financial pressures that many artists and freelancers already experience.
With the worsening of the current epidemic derived from COVID-19, measures for exceptional support to associations like ours that contribute to the National Culture can go unseen.
Although we (voluntarily) closed the doors of our headquarters as a measure to contain the virus, we will continue to support our musicians, artists and technicians throughout this extraodinary time because nobody foresaw the end of this epidemiological crisis that will soon also bring an economic crisis to many.
We have thus come to appeal to your solidarity. Please take into account the difficulties that this community is experiencing and consider making a donation to this support movement.
In a first and urgent phase, the funds raised monthly will serve to guarantee the payment of operating costs and thus allow us to preserve our headquarters in Cascais. These costs are the most basic, namely: rent, electricity, water, security, internet service and telephones, as well as the provision of services by 2 part-time employees.
In the immediately following phase, our objective is to continue the Association's statutory mission: to disseminate and practice quality music (namely Jazz, Blues and Bossa Nova) with live performances or - if the quarantine continues ... online with broadcast direct.

CASCAIS JAZZ CLUB is the visible face of the Jam Session Associação Cultural (non-profit)
Founded in 2010, JAM SESSION is a non-profit cultural association that was born from the voluntary association of several prominent figures in national jazz - including musicians, producers, writers, promoters and music lovers - with the express objective of creating and managing a live pole and active linked to the promotion and dissemination of this musical genre, valuing it as an art form and social inclusion that is intrinsically.
The only place in Cascais to present JAZZ, BLUES AND BOSSA NOVA live, from Thursday to Sunday, between 21.30h and 0.30h. From mid-June until the first week of September also on Wednesdays.
