In a digital fabrication lab filled with industry-grade machines — where tradition meets technology and inspiration flows from her ancestors — a young Indigenous woman prepares her first 3D print. She’s not just creating an object; she’s giving form to her voice, confidence, and future.

This is FabLab Onaki. This is the First Peoples Innovation Centre (FPIC).

At the FPIC, we don’t simply teach — we empower. Through immersive training programs in 2D/3D design, electronics, and fabrication, Indigenous youth and women reconnect with their identity while gaining practical, future-ready skills. Our programs are mobile, accessible, and grounded in community. From the Nomad FabLab to the Feminine FabLab, our reach extends across Quebec, ensuring that no community is left behind in the digital age.

In just five years, we’ve trained over 700 Indigenous youth from more than 25 communities. Now, we’re raising funds to continue our programming and purchase essential new equipment — so participants can be trained directly on the tools used in today’s industries. The right tools help us teach the right skills — ones that open doors in today’s job market.

This is not charity. This is an investment in innovation, autonomy, and reconciliation in action.
