<div>Hello, I’m Alan and I manage Deanshanger Athletic Ladies football club. We are a returning team after 4 seasons away from women’s football. We currently compete in the Northamptonshire Women’s and Girls football league.

<div>Im writing this for one of my players, Leanne Dunne, she is a midfielder and Goalkeeper. This past Sunday the 14th September 2025 we had our first official league game of the season and Leanne was in goal. All was going well in the first half (despite losing) and the second half started well, until Leanne came out of her box to challenge for the ball and clashed with an opposing player injuring her knee. She had to come off and sat out the rest of the game.

<div>After a hard night of pain and bad swelling around her right knee she went to A&amp;E and after an X-ray it was discovered that she had in fact very badly broken her knee to the point that she now needs an operation. Naturally we are all gutted for her as this means a significant spell on the sidelines.

<div>What’s this also means for Leanne is lots of bed rest and more importantly no work for 4-6 months, sick pay for a while but that only lasts for so long. Leanne will also require some lengthy rehabilitation too.
</div>

<div>So we would like as her club and friends is to reach out to the wonderful football world and community to help try and raise some much needed money to help Leanne and her family and her recovery while she is not working.
</div>

<div>Leanne is a much loved player and person at our football club and this injury has hit us all really hard. We have set this up so we can try and raise some money to help while she is out of action.
</div>

<div>If we manage to raise enough money it will be spent to help while there’s a loss of earnings and anything else will go towards rehabilitation so we can get Leanne back to her best.
