Hello! My name is Nazira, and I am a volunteer at Le Refuge d’Aina in Antetezambaro, Madagascar. I have had the incredible privilege of spending time here this summer, and I’d love to share why I started this fundraiser and how you can help bring hope to a very special community.
Le refuge d’Aina is a small orphanage, primary school, and eco-farm that supports vulnerable and abandoned children in rural Madagascar. It offers more than just shelter. It provides safety, education, nutritious meals, and most importantly, a loving environment where children are allowed to thrive.
The name “Aïna” means life, and that’s exactly what this place gives.
Every child I’ve met here has a story. Some have lost their parents, others have been abandoned or come from dangerous home situations. Yet despite all this, they are full of joy, curiosity, and love. From the moment I arrived, I was embraced by their energy, their laughter, and their resilience. It is impossible not to be moved when you have kids like Andrea, Vola, Adithia, Sarobidy and Khadijah, who make this place feel like home!
The staff here work tirelessly with very limited resources. They are caretakers, teachers, cooks, and protectors all in one, doing everything they can with what little they have. But the needs are great.
The Goal
My goal is to raise $3,000 in 3 weeks to meet some of the orphanage’s most urgent needs:
* 96 laying hens to provide eggs for meals
* Starter feed, vaccines, and vitamins for the chickens
* Rice to make sure the children have enough to eat each month
* Paint and supplies to refresh dark, dirty classrooms with bright colors
* A safe room for Sylvie, one of the caregivers who currently sleeps under the same roof as the pigs
* Solar lamps and cell repairs for nighttime visibility and safety
This total covers all materials, transport, labor, and food support. These improvements may seem small, but they make a huge difference in the lives of these children.
Every donation helps bring dignity, safety, and joy to a place that is already filled with love, but short on resources.
That’s why I decided to give back in the best way I could, and invite you to do the same. If you're able, please consider donating. If you can't give right now, you can still help by sharing this fundraiser with others who might.
Every Donation Counts
No matter how big or small, your support goes directly to the children and staff here at Le refuge d’Aina.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and from all of us here in Madagascar!!!!!!❤️
