Kyler Hoodicoff's Fight to Recovery!

On Wednesday September 5th, Kyler Hoodicoff had a horrific fall which lead him to be air vacc'd within hours to Kelowna General Hospital. He had extensive bleeding in the brain, a broken hip, a very badly broken leg, the right side of his face shattered, his right eye very badly damaged, both feet broken, a punctured lung along with many scrapes and bruises.  Kyler was immediately put into OR upon arrival in Kelowna. The doctors worked on his brain for several hours to relieve the pressure and blood. There was also many bone fragments they had to remove from the brain from the broken facial bones. There will be some brain damage but we will not know the extent of that for weeks to come. The next day kyler had another couple surgeries to try and repair his right leg, which he could possibly still lose and he may very likely lose the use of his right eye. There are more surgeries to come including face reconstruction, and both ankles.  Kyler has been very strong and his vitals have been strong but he has a very long road ahead of him and he will be in Kelowna for at least two months with his mom by his side.  All monies raised will assist Kyler and his family during this difficult time aiding in travel, accommodations and kylers rehabilitation. Marla (Kylers mom) and Ben (Kylers dad) is staying by his side in Kelowna. However, she has 2 daughters and 1 son back home (including a 6 month old baby) whom she will have to travel to care for as well. Kyler is a caring, sweet young man and we are praying for the best possible outcome for him. Kyler and his family thank everyone for their kind words and support.  If you know Kyler... you would know that he is truly an amazing person. His laugh and smile lights up a room. Kyler would give the shirt off of his back to a stranger.  He has always been there to support friends and family.  And now it's our turn to show Kyler how much he is loved. He needs every bit of support that we can pull together.
