<div>Many of you know me as Kon – or Christian — that DJ-producer from Boston who for over 30 years has been behind the decks, curating vibes, and making music that’s had people nodding their heads and dancing all over the world through my work with Kon &amp; Amir, BBE, The Vision, Defected, Saturday Love, and The Blessed Madonna. But right now, I’m facing something that’s taking me off the decks and out of the studio for awhile.

<div>For the past few years, I’ve been dealing with a rare cancer condition called essential thrombocytosis (ET), where my bone marrow’s been making too many platelets. It’s usually something older folks deal with, but somehow I ended up with it. At first, the doctors were hopeful, saying it was manageable. But unfortunately, my condition is transforming into leukemia, and now I need a bone marrow transplant to save my life.

<div>Here’s the real talk: I won’t be able to DJ, produce, or work for the next year while I go through this. That’s a huge hit, especially when you’re used to making a living doing what you love. And this recovery’s not gonna be quick. The transplant’s just the beginning – I’ve got a year-long road ahead of me.
