For those who know Kevin, you know that he is full of life and laughter.
For those who don’t. Kevin is the type of person that brings positive energy to any room he enters.
We have all known Kevin for quite some time. To be completely honest, I cannot recall a time when I did not know Kevin.
Kevin has always carried himself with a great deal of respect and positivity. No matter what the circumstance, Kevin has always come out on top. We know that this time will be absolutely no different.
Kevin has always been a truly one of a kind friend to me. We share a good amount of the same interests, Guitars, Sports, and Guns. I can honestly say that Kevin is one of the best men I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.
Unfortunately, Kevin is currently facing one of life’s more difficult tribulations.
Recently Kevin was diagnosed with a significant Melanoma tumor in his right eye, measuring approximately 13.5mm (large).
As a point of reference, the average human pupil is between 2-4mm in bright light, and between 4-8mm in darkness.
Malignant melanoma of the eye is a rare condition, and can occur when the eye has been exposed to too much ultraviolet radiation, or sunlight. The choroid layer of your eye is where blood vessels are stored. This is the layer most commonly affected by malignant melanoma.
We have talked with Kevin, and with his permission, we have started this gofundme campaign in an effort to help with any residual costs, not covered by his insurance. All donations will go directly to Kevin and his family, in order to help with the outrageous cost of medical treatment.
Kevin is currently in the diagnostic stages of the process. He will be undergoing PET scans and MRI’s within a week or so, after which he will begin Radiation Treatment (July 26th).
Any donation means we’re that much closer to closing the gap between insurance coverage and out of pocket cost.
Any donation helps us contribute to our brother’s journey back to health.
