Help Support Justin’s Journey

Justin Fernandez, to know him is to love him. If anyone has had the opportunity to meet Justin or the absolute pleasure of having him in your life you know he is truly one of most charismatic, thoughtful, entertaining and loving boys in the world.

Unfortunately back in March, at just 24 years old Justin was diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer. After an ultrasound and bloodwork confirming the diagnosis the next step was surgery to remove the mass & hopefully wrap up Justin’s fight with cancer. Now here we are, August 1st, four rounds of chemotherapy later and onto surgery #3. Justin’s cancer wasn’t as manageable as we first believed. After surgery #1 we were told it had unfortunately already spread to his abdominal lymph nodes so 4 rounds of chemotherapy would hopefully eliminate any mass and he would beat cancer. After his final CT scan, ready to celebrate, the nodes didn’t shrink as much as we had hoped for.

Now comes the biggest decision: Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection. An 8 hour surgery including a 5 day hospital stay to remove his lymph nodes and eliminate the chance of this cancer progressing. An extensive surgery full or risks including complete loss of fertility. For a 24 year old to carry this weight is truly heartbreaking. Unfortunately, male fertility treatments are expensive & not covered under insurance which would be the next process before surgery. Preserving fertility has been Justin’s main concern throughout this whole process and being a risk of this surgery has shaken up his whole world.

We want finances to be the last thing occupying justin’s mind which is why we are inviting anyone to give financially toward Justin’s healing journey. Not only has this cancer took a toll physically and mentally but financially as well.
