<div>Hello everyone! I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my dad, Ismael. Many of you may know him, and if you don't, let me tell you a bit about who he is. My dad, Ismael, is the bravest and strongest person I know. As a single dad, he works tirelessly to take care of our family. He would happily give someone the shirt off his back if needed and loved saving lives in his time as law enforcement and firefighter.

<div>My dad's drive to help others isn't something new. As native New Yorkers, 9/11 brought on heartache for our family. We cried with the city, but that didn't stop my dad from responding and volunteering to work the recovery and clean-up process. He worked tirelessly to piece the city back together as we all processed that loss.

<div>Recently, in August 2024, <strong>my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA)</strong>. GPA is a rare autoimmune disease that inflames the body's vital organs, organs that are already struggling as they battle Lymphoma. Confirming these diagnoses and trying to treat them has been a long and scary process. Appointments, scans, and tests have become our new routine this year. This battle is by far the most grueling one we've faced as a family. It is mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting, but as my dad would say, we can't let the hard days win.
