Hello everyone, my name is Pamela. Never in a million years did I ever think it would come down to writing this. My best friend has now been diagnosed with CMML2, a rare form of leukemia (1-2 per 100,000-200,000 people). It is a blood disease. She is undergoing chemo injections 5 days a week, multiple lab works every Monday, weekly visits to oncology for blood work, and any treatments needed to help add energy, etc. 
 
She has started going to Tennessee Oncology at 378 Marketplace Boulevard, Suite 5 and 6, Johnson City, Tennessee 37604. 
 
She is from New Hampshire, but now she's living her dream in Tennessee with her other half, Michael. They met in 2015 in New Hampshire but decided to live out their dream together in TN. She has 2 children, one in New Hampshire and one in Florida, so she decided to live in the middle. Traveling to see her grandchildren was her dream, and on February 11th, 2025, all life's plans got put on hold when she was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease called leukemia. 
 
I took her to the hospital in February because she was vomiting, had diarrhea, was very fatigued, and started having chest pains. 11 days later, test after test after test, the doctor came in with the worst news ever, something none of us ever expected. Leukemia... She was then discharged on home IV meds for 2 weeks. She has met multiple doctors and had second opinions, and it all comes back down to CMML2. 
 
She's had multiple bone marrow tests, 25+. She was a hard-working woman all her life. She's always the one that sacrifices things for others and is always the giving one throughout her whole life, without expecting anything in return. 
 
As a retail worker her whole life, you can only imagine her basic retirement insurance is just not enough to cover the treatment she needs. 
 
She has met with new doctors and nurses, and she has taken classes. Doctors have advised her that she will be going through 6 months to a year of chemo treatment. She has had lots of tests run, hospital stays, chemotherapy cycles, transfusions, and new medications added. Now, looking into bone marrow transplants. 
 
She is doing chemo injections - Azacitidine (Vidaza) SQ and has been placed on other medications too - Ondansetron &amp; Compazine for nausea. 
 
Despite her tireless efforts, it's impossible for her alone to bear the weight of such overwhelming medical costs. I am humbly reaching out to you through this fundraiser, not just as a plea for financial support but as a request for support and kindness. This is a very cruel disease. This disease has stolen away any peace our family would ever have. While she's undergoing treatment, the doctor has advised chemotherapy with chemo injections and a bone marrow transplant as the only route of survival.
