This fundraiser is being sponsored by the Dorsey High School Alumni and Friends Association. The purpose of the association is to maintain the history and legacies of Dorsey High School, provide opportunities for alumni to convene and fellowship, raise funds for scholarships, and provide support to the Dorsey school community where needed.
Past support includes: funding for the 2021 graduation ceremony for decorations, funding and support for homecoming with securing items to enhance the experience for students and alumni, purchasing of polo shirts for the Associated Student Body officers, participation in the Western Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation process, and issuance of over $50,000 in scholarships over the past few years. The association also provides funding for the alumni ‘Hall of Fame’ where photos of honorees are mounted in the ‘B’ Building on campus.

Our Fundraising Goal:
Our fundraising goal of $50,000 is to help supplement the educational and extracurricular programs when asked by the school based on their needs.
Although, Dorsey High School receives funding from the state for academics, students are often times in need of assistance with purchasing items such as a drill team uniform which is not provided by the district. Our alumni have also been supportive in providing items for football and cheerleaders for Senior recognition. These are only a few highlights of areas the funds are used for in addition to providing scholarships.
Why GoFundMe?
The needs of the Dorsey continue even during the Covid-19 pandemic and we consider a GoFundMe fundraiser to be a viable and safe way to raise funds at this time. We will resume our in-person events as soon as we feel it is safe to do so based on LA Unified and CDC guidelines.
Your Impact
Any contribution you make will go into the Dorsey High School Alumni and Friends Association account which is managed by our Alumni Board and dispersed to the various programs throughout the year.
