Help Support Diane this winter

My mother Diane was recently hospitalized and underwent surgery for a chronic illness. She also recently developed De Quervain's Tenosynovitis- a painful and deabilitating condition affecting the tendons on the thumb side of her right wrist, making it impossible for Diane to do the work she loves as a landscaper. It has become apparent that she can not work to support herself at this time, due to complications from her illness and wrist condition.

Diane is in need of funds to help her purchase firewood (her primary source of heat) and to help her meet her basic living expenses this winter, while she tries to regain her health. She lives in a cabin she built with her late husband Kip, in the rural woods of Northern Idaho, where the winters and road conditions are very hard.

If you know Diane, you know that she is a tenacious, hard working, energized, wildy creative artist who can't stop moving, making, building and transforming the space in which she lives and works!  It is heartbreaking for my mother to accept the fact that she is unable to work.

Financial support this winter from family and friends would mean that Diane, can stop worrying about how she will "make it" through the winter and instead focus her energy on resting and healing.
