Help support Davey and Lacey Nast

Hello, this is a GoFundme page set up by a close friend of Davey & Lacey's. Over the past year Davey has been battling stage 4 colon cancer with mets to the liver. He has undergone 14 chemo treatments and stayed strong through them all for his family. In September of 2016 when he was diagnosed they mentioned the chemo before surgery was the best option to try and get the tumors to shrink. In March of 2017 they performed another PET scan and they received excellent news that the spots in his liver had shrunk with the chemo, they felt they were on a good path given that news and continued his chemo treatments. In April he started having nerophathy issues and a lot of abdominal pain but just figured it was due to the chemo making him sick as he was taking such a strong dosage.
On May 17th he was admitted to the ER with sever bowel blockage due to the tumor in the colon, the next day they performed emergency surgery. The 3 hour surgery seemed like forever, they ended up taking the left side of the colon and part of the right side. The next few days they had him up and walking and trying to keep his bowels awake, come Sunday following surgery he took a turn for the worst. They found out they had mixed up a medication and he was getting 10x the dosage he was prescribed which put in down in the bed for the next 5 days which allowed his bowels to go back to sleep. Taking all the medicine and being in bed during this time he ended up getting illesis; they had to insert an NG tube to drain the fluids from the bowels off his stomach. Once they were able to get his system flushed of the extra medication they thought they were on our way to recovery until his fever started to spike (102.4) and they couldn't get it to go down, his heart rate spiked so high they did an EKG which showed he experienced a mild heart attack. The nurses had to call in a cardiologist to take him to the cath lab to check his arteries and muscles around the heart and luckily they received clearance on the heart. However, it didn't stop there....the issues continued to where they had to take him back in for surgery where they discovered there was a leak and massive infection so bad that they were unable to close him up for the next 48 hours. During this time he was given a wound vac and admitted into ICU for the next 3 days. They ended up getting to meet with an Infectious Doctor that started him on several different antibiotics to try and help with the infection so they could go back in to close up his abdomen. Finally the 3rd surgery day approached and the bowels were still too swollen to try and do a colostomy so they had to leave him open so that they could keep a wound vac to suction the infection off, spent another 3 days in ICU. This family has been through so much in 21 days. They went in for a surgery that was supposed to result in 4-6 days in the hospital but with all the hiccups that have happened they are still in there. Davey is such an amazing dad and all he wants is to be home with his girls. He has lost so much weight as he hasn't been able to eat since Mothers Day. They currently have a PIC line into his main veins that is feeding him what they call TPN nutrients in a bag to keep his body going. His wife has stayed by his side and haven't worked in 3 weeks through all this, Davey hasn't worked in a year so funds have been tight. The medical bills they are receiving are hefty as some of it is falling in out of network coverage which is a different deductible. Please join me and help this family get through this hard time.
