Help Support Dad's Funeral costs

Well as most of you know (friends and family anyway) Dad has been battling Cancer for a long time now. He is now in his final days in comfort at the hospital. He will be with his best friend Fred soon enough ( whom he never fully got over his loss), as well as his father and other loved ones he's lost. This will be a very hard time for all of us who have known him and loved him. I also know this is hard to think about when he is still here; however, I tend to think ahead.

I am hoping that as most people offer support for donations or flowers and such that we can all pitch together and give dad a good celebration of life. 

Dad was never able to fully save up a lot of money so he does not have very much savings, nor do we, so we were hoping to have some help with the funeral costs. I think there may be some support out there, however, I'm sure it is not very much. 

We will be looking to cover funeral costs such as burial, memorial and such, as well as a rental of a hall to get together (unless anyone knows of a free place) 
and share all of our wonderful memories of him, and I am sure there are other costs I don't even know about. 

Any little bit helps us in creating a special service for our father/grandfather, husband, brother, son, uncle and friend. 

Any funds left over would be given to a charity in town in his honour. 

Also as a memorial instead of flowers we were thinking dad would want you to instead buy a case of beer for someone you love and tell them it's in memory of Bill
