Help Support Covarrubias

Hello family & friends...

On 4/8/18 Julio Covarrubias age 24 from Murrieta CA went to Ocotillo Wells. This weekend has now changed the lives of every single one of us who are close to him from family to friends, but especially, Julio Covarrubias. Julio is one the most amazing, brave, and determined person you could ever meet. Such a bright spirit that could light up the room with laughter and joy.

On 4/8/18 him and his friends went out for their 1st ride with all 4 Rzrs and had a blast in the Oil Well Wash. They made it from one end to the other and decided to turn back and head to the next adventure. About half way through the wash two of his friends noticed the other 3 Rzrs were not behind them. They waited a minute to give them a chance to catch up and noticed there was no dust storm coming through the canyon. Both of them turned around and headed back to see where everyone was at. What his two friends thought they'd find is the rzr having 4X4 issues stuck in the lose sand they had just went through. But what they would have never expected to find is that one of their friends rzr had tipped over and someone in their group was literally fighting for his life. Unfortunately that was Julio. Julio's arm got caught outside the rzr when it tipped over and became mangled in the accident. Julio was life flighted out of the wash and taken to the nearest trauma center. Fortunately, Julio left that canyon with his life but unfortunately the Drs were not able to save his arm.  And had to have his right arm amputated.

Words cannot describe how everyone in that canyon is feeling right now as well as for family and friends. 4/8/18 will be a day we never forget...but for Julio it will be the day that literally changed the course of how he will live the rest of his life. With this accident will come enormous amounts of medical expenses, physical therapy, and income needed to continue paying his bills while he is out of work from this injury.

If any of my family or friends could spare anything, honestly, ANYTHING helps, it would mean the world to me if you could donate. Even if you don't have money to donate but you can take the time to pray for Julio and his recovery and just share this GoFundMe I'd be forever grateful. As well as him and our family.

*Clarification - this is NOT a reckless driving or drunk driving accident. They were NOT being dumb asses and someone got hurt because of it. This literally is just a tragic accident...
