<div>Boo was diagnosed with diabetes in January 2026. After many diagnostic tests, x-rays, and an ultrasound, he was also diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma. 6 months into this journey with him, I am now struggling to keep up with the financial aspect of his medical needs. Unfortunately we do not have pet insurance. It was less available when he was a kitten and now it is too late to get it - every insurance I’ve looked into will not cover him due to age &amp; now these pre-existing conditions. Due to this, I am subject to paying full price for all of his medical care.

<div>Aside from his recent medical issues, Boo is a happy, cuddly, sweet gentleman. He loves everyone he meets. He loves to beg for food he can’t have, lays under your feet when you’re in the kitchen with contentment, and will not hesitate to yell at you if you step slightly too close to his tail. While getting older &amp; his medical issues have slowed him down, his insulin &amp; other medicines have made him act more like himself over the past 5 months. He’s chatty again. He plays with toys again. He seems happier and looks healthier.

<div>As you can see, these things add up very quickly. While regular vet appointments &amp; testing happens every 6 months, most of the other items are being replenished every 2 weeks or every month. I’m struggling to keep up with these costs alongside my regular life bills (rent, car-related bills, my own medicine, groceries, etc.).
