Update 08/19/2025

Hello Everyone! I cannot express my grattitude for all of your kindness and help towards my sweet boys costly vet bills. Thankfully Bentleys surgery ended up not costing as much as we thought! Though his surgical bills and recovery have added up.

He was up and walking within a few days, but after his surgery he was able to open up his stitches, we had to take him back to the ER to get his wound re-closed. Recovery will be on going for a few weeks! I look forward to keeping you all updated in his progress!

My name is Destiny Lopez, and I am raising funds to try and save my dog, my best friend, Bentley.

This morning, Bentley slipped out of the fence during his usual outside time. While he was out, he somehow managed to get out of our fence and was hit by a car. The driver didn’t stop. My husband, our children, and I spent the morning and early afternoon looking for him in the neighborhood . While we were looking for him, Animal Control called to say they had found Bentley and were taking him to the emergency vet.

I’m a mom of two toddlers and a music teacher for underserved students. I pour my heart into my work, but my income is modest, and this unexpected expense is more than I can handle on my own.

My dog is more than just a pet — he’s family. He’s been with me through life’s ups and downs, and he’s a constant source of love, comfort, and joy for my children. I’m doing everything I can to save him, but time is running out and I need help.
