Help support Ben Clay’s family

Hi my name is Lisa Westerman and Ben Clay was my friend of 15+ years, a fellow housing consultant and an all round good guy. Ben dedicated his whole career to housing, particularly the affordable housing sector. He was everybody’s friend, did so much for so many in our housing community and was passionate about his work in housing and his daughter’s charity. 

He was innovative, intelligent and made such a difference to affordable housing. He was smart, caring, funny, loyal and so loved!

At the weekend, Ben was taken from us after a short battle with cancer having first being diagnosed in August 2021.

Whilst we are all grieving right now for the loss of our one in a million friend, we are also feeling devastated for his family that he has left behind. Ben was a husband to Joy and he had two children Isaac and Tilly who were his world. 

Ben was passionate about his work in relation to Tilly’s charity #SCN8A UK and Ireland. The aims of the charity are to support and connect families, so they are not alone, to provide access to information and connections to local and international expertise and to make it easier for researchers to connect to the community. 

I know donations to the charity will be important for the family so this is a way for us to help.
