First off all I’d like to say i am never one to ask for anyone’s help and this has been a really
tough decision for me to do this. As most of you all already know, I’m Katie. Single mother of a 3 year boy, Oakley & currently pregnant with baby Jax who has recently been diagnosed with Polycistic Kidney Disease via my sonogram at 33 weeks. Doctor was concerned & sent us to Peoria to have him further checked out. Seen a specialist who told us both his kidneys have little to no function and there’s no fluid surrounding him therefore it’s very life threatening & very dangerous. They have no idea how this happened & promise it isn’t anything we’ve done. Since his heart rate and everything else looked good & he weighed 5.5 lbs, they decided to keep him in til 39 weeks where they’re going to induce me as they can’t do anything for the kidneys or know how much of them are properly functioning til he’s here. So from now til 39 weeks, it’s a waiting game & all we can do is hope and pray that this amazing hospital with multiple teams of doctors can do whatever it takes to save our sweet baby boys life when he enters the world. I’m seeing my specialist once a week from now til delivery & my regular OB twice a week to do non stress tests. I was also told i cannot work my physical second job that really helped me with income. Unfortunately even in emergencies bills and life does not stop. I will be commuting to & from Peoria quite often as well. I will be missing a lot work due to all the appointments at random times throughout the day and living on my own paying bills by myself this is going to be a very stressful time. Also, when Jax is born in Peoria hospital next month he will be staying there more than likely for weeks to get him hopefully recovered and on his way to a healthy life. I do not plan to leave his side the entire time as my heart breaks that he has to endure this as just a newborn. I would like to thank anyone that would be willing to help me! This is a very rough for us and I’m asking for prayers in every direction. We just have to try and stay positive and hope for the best! Thank you for all the love and support! My heart breaks at the thought of going through this, but i gotta stay strong for my boy! #TEAMJAX
