<div>Hi everyone, my name is Andrew Wellnitz.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am excited to share with you about an upcoming service project in Dominican Republic this upcoming June through Courts for Kids. I need to raise $3,300 in order to participate so I am asking friends and family members to consider helping out with a tax-deductible contribution.

</div>
<div>We will travel to Dominican Republic and make our way to Higo de la Cruz. which is located in southern Dominican. Living conditions can be hard in El Higo de la Cruz. There is no electricity, and there is a water fountain that all the community uses for bathing, and collecting water for cooking and home chores, and cell phone reception is only on specific spots. There is one primary school and no high school. In most cases, many of our kids don’t go to high school and their education ends after primary school. The only way for them to go to high school is to move out of the community and close to municipalities, where they are hosted by families, so they can get the opportunity to go to school. The community has a Haitian church, a couple of mini stores, and they are currently building a police station and a primary care unit. And after more than 50 years, finally their “prayers have been heard” with the paving of their road!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As of this moment, there is not a single place for kids or adults to practice any sports. There are about 200 kids in El Higo and about half go to school. The kids can benefit from the court through their PE classes and for the rest of the day it will provide recreation. This court will be in the main part of down, only 200 meters from the main road, with land that was donated by a local farmer. The community stated, “Little by little we hope to change our Higo de la Cruz. We believe that a village that only owns a two classroom school can later have courts, churches, high schools, stores, running water, electricity, phone reception and all the services.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This community applied to Courts for Kids for assistance in building a multi-use athletic court, which is where I come in. I want to help make this vision a reality for the community but need some help. I am raising money not only for travel costs but also for construction materials, as well.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our primary project will be to build this court, but we will also take part in other service and cultural learning activities as well. Our primary purpose for going is to serve the local community, but also to grow and learn as we get out of our comfort zone. We will be staying in relatively primitive conditions within the community and will be eating the local food the entire time. This is definitely not a touristy trip, but I am excited for the change I am sure will happen in my life and the impact we can have.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I want to go on this trip because I want to learn the value of service and connect with people from other parts of the world.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I need to raise $3,300 for this trip to be possible. If you are interested in helping I would be truly grateful. You donation is tax-deductible and 100% of what you give will go directly to this trip.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sincerely,
</div>
<div>Andrew
