<div>In 2011, at the age of 27, Alex was diagnosed with brain cancer. For more than a decade, she's endured six surgeries and a round of radiotherapy. Her most recent operation has had the most significant impact. She has no use of her preferred right hand and our beautiful friend, who has always loved hiking and being in nature, became confined to a wheel chair.

<div>The key to her recovery is early intervention. Her family are endeavoring to self-fund neuro-physiotherapy to focus on Alex's rehabilitation and already she is seeing the benefits. Unfortunately, this rehab comes at a rather large cost. Alex is unable to work and is relying on her parents, particularly her amazing Mum, who has also had to give up work to be the primary carer for her daughter.

<div>Not only has Alex and her family been dealing with her most recent surgery and support needs, but in March, they had to say farewell to Alex’s younger sister, who lost her own battle with terminal cancer.

<div>Alex has lived with the presence of death for a long time now. We’re proud to say our friend is still one of the most positive and caring people you could ever meet. Her courage inspires us every day. But despite her determination, she needs help, her family needs help.
