About eight weeks ago, a close friend of mine endured a hardship no family should face when her husband suffered a stroke.

Since then, she has been trying to hold everything together. She is still working full-time here in Palestine while also driving back and forth to Tyler every single day to be by his side, care for him, and support his recovery.

She is doing everything she can—but she is exhausted, overwhelmed, and financially drained.

Her husband has been the primary provider for their family, and with him unable to work, they’ve been left without that income. Long-term disability has still not kicked in, and insurance has been inconsistent when it comes to covering the care and resources he needs for recovery.

They’ve tried to stay afloat on their own, even organizing creative ways to help with expenses, but those efforts have slowed and are no longer enough to keep up with the growing financial strain.

This fundraiser is to help take some of that weight off her shoulders during this incredibly difficult time.

Funds raised will go toward:

• Everyday living expenses while income is on hold

• Medical and therapy-related costs not fully covered by insurance

• Equipment and support needed for his recovery
