Help support a Burn Survivor

As of March 2017 I was in a car accident in which my car caught fire. I woke up days later in the Trauma ICU where I was diagnosed with 3rd to 4th degree burns covering 40% of my body and that it would take about 2-3 years to begin living a new normal. Since I then I’ve had a total of 11 graft surgeries, 2 on my left hand and laser facial surgery is still in count.  Fraxel Laser therapy is a newer science in the medical field that is slowly being proven to help burn survivors dramatically. Unfortunately due to lack of evidence this treatment is not covered in healthcare and the fact it is considered “cosmetic”. With these treatments it is $300-$500 every 3-4 months and has helped me improve range of movement for my neck drastically. Severe scarring often causes more health issues and injury from the initial trauma. These treatments not only help breakdown scars but also prolong the healing process from severe injury.  For a long time my face chin was being pulled down by the aggressive scarring which caused migraines until I found an office with the treatment advised to me through the Burn Center Support.  Laser Treatments for traumatic injuries such as burns can be up to 2-3 years until the patient is satisfied or the healing process stops. I ask for help in my journey as it has been hard to save money and continue these treatment while having a limited disability income. I still have dreams to go back to school as well as being apart of the developing evidence in order to help other survivors down the road and would be forever thankful in any help in spreading awareness for burn survivors.
