Hi, my name is Rosie Van Rycheghem and I am fundraising to support 8 migrant workers and their families in Mexico. Over the past 5 years these men have shown their dedication, respect and hard work ethic not only to our family but to the community of Chatham Kent.
On a foggy early morning, October 30th 2022, 8 migrant workers were in a tragic car accident while on their way to work. Four men were airlifted to hospitals in London and/or Windsor while the other four were treated at the Chatham hospital. It is with the grace of God that everyone survived and we are so thankful for that. However, the way these men earn money is by physical labour and long hours spent in the field. Many of them were rushed into surgery for broken bones such as: shattered pelvis, broken femur, broken arms, orbital bone fracture, broken legs and elbows. Now that everyone is first and foremost alive many men find themselves under huge stressors of being unable to provide for their families while they heal and regain strength. The battle now lies in their mental which can be the hardest battle of all. This truly has been a nightmare for all these men and their families back in Mexico.
Reaching out to our wonderful community and farming family to assist in this time of need. We ask that you help ease some of their grief and stress by donating to this cause. Going into the holiday season I know it would mean so much to them.
