Help Sultana's Family Escape Gaza's Hardships
Donation protected
I am Sultana from the United States currently residing on the west coast. I have some extended family trapped in Gaza and I wish to evacuate them as quickly as possible. In the meantime, while they are still there, they need many necessities including food, clean drinking water, medicines, access to electricity and internet as well as a source of fuel to purify water and cook food with.
Amongst these relatives I have my brother Monir, sister Rola, and elderly parents. Everyday tasks that many of us take for granted are very difficult for the people in Gaza. My brother travels across a great distance every day just to gather basic supplies for their survival. He is caring for all four of them and even checks on me regularly.
Our parents are elderly and growing weary and tired with every passing day. Our father is suffering from blood pressure conditions and cannot gain access to the medicine he needs to keep it under control. Under normal circumstances this is a serious condition but with the stress of living in a tent and being cut off from the world it is nearly impossible to keep his blood pressure at safe levels.
They are in complete darkness as soon as the sun sets, and the sound of drones and bombs never stop. They do not sleep normal hours, they do not rest or heal properly when they do sleep, and their hope is fading. They do not have beds, they do not have walls, they do not have lights, or a refrigerator and they do not have a washer. Everything they have to do they have to do in a primitive manner. No one deserves to live like this, and with your help they can evacuate Gaza and begin to recover from this experience.
Their journey to safety and health will be a long one, but I will never leave their side and I will never stop fighting for their freedom and wellbeing. Please don't allow me to fight alone. Join me in getting my family to safety as soon as possible and ensuring their survival.
The goal I have set is an extremely modest amount, but I chose it because I want it to be an attainable goal and not overwhelming for donors. Below is a breakdown of how the funds will be spent and delivered.
When the boarder opens, we want to be ready with the money needed to get each person visas to evacuate. As of right now that cost is roughly $5,000 per person.
The remaining amount set will be primarily to cover fees that will be applied to the campaign and transfers. It is also possible that some of the funds may be used on basic necessities including but not limited to food, clean drinking water, fuel, medicine, and communication access such as internet. As of right now this is just phase one. Once everyone is evacuated, we can then look towards the future and figure out a way to rebuild the lives that were built and lost under these circumstances.
Again, my primary concern is of their survival. I have set up a bank account specifically for this campaign and all the money raised will be deposited into that and from there I can distribute the funds as needed and necessary. There are a number of apps that make transferring money internationally safe, secure and easy for a small fee. Additionally, I have the benefit of United States banking systems and financial institutions which have the capability to wire money effortlessly.
Thank you for taking the time to read about this campaign and in advance for your generous contribution to it. Words will never be able to express my gratitude and I pray daily for your protection and good health.
Peace and many blessings,
--Sultana
