<div>Carlos was 31 years old, with lots of hopes and dreams. He was the light of our family. He was always making us laugh. He offered his help to anyone in need. He was shy and didn’t like asking for help, yet I remember him as one of the most outgoing people I ever knew.

<div>Carlos was detained by ICE on August 20, 2024. He spent 3 months locked in the ICE detention center before being deported back to his home county, Honduras. He had left his family, his home, and his business here in the U.S. His three-year-old Mia and one-year-old Carlos Jr. “Carlitos” had not seen his dad in 4 months. Carlos missed them dearly, so he left Honduras in hopes of getting back home to everything he left behind, especially his two young children and his fiancée. However, his trip ended near the United States border when he died suddenly of a heart attack. Our whole family is devastated. He didn't get to say goodbye to his family, he won't get to see his children grow up, and he won't get to marry my aunt.

<div>His body is still in Mexico and although it is not possible to bring him here, we would like to send him back to Honduras. This takes a lot of money and effort. Which is why I am asking for your help. Anything is appreciated. We will be grateful wholeheartedly.

<div>Carlos fue detenido por ICE el 20 de agosto de 2024. Pasó 3 meses encerrado en el centro de detención de ICE antes de ser deportado a su país natal, Honduras. Había dejado a su familia, su hogar y su negocio aquí en los EE. UU. Su hija de tres años, Mia, y su hijo de un año, Carlos Jr. “Carlitos”, no habían visto a su padre en 4 meses. Carlos los extrañaba mucho, así que se fue de Honduras con la esperanza de volver a casa y encontrar todo lo que había dejado atrás, especialmente a sus dos hijos pequeños y a su prometida. Sin embargo, su viaje terminó cerca de la frontera con Estados Unidos cuando murió repentinamente de un ataque cardíaco. Toda nuestra familia está devastada. No pudo despedirse de su familia, no podrá ver crecer a sus hijos y no podrá casarse con mi tía.
