Help Stuart Robinson Beat Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Matthew Cope, and I have had the luck of being best friends with a great man named Stuart Robinson. We met our Freshman year in 1993. At first, I could only see this kid for his smart mouth and tendency to wear green suits to high school. Getting to know him over the last 24 years has led me to, not just enjoy his humor, sensibility, charm, and loyalty as a friend, but to love him as a role model and a mentor for many aspects in my own life. Not many people get to have friends like this. I am proud of everything he has done in his life, even if he feels unaccomplished. He is a GOOD human being, and has a wonderful heart.

Since January 2017 Stuart had been experiencing urinary and bowl pains. His doctor said just a UTI and would only advise him to drink water and take antibiotics. That was over nine months ago. Each time he went in, it was the same advice.

He left his job on 8/15/17, to find better employment, but was still having horrible pains. On 9/3/17, after passing blood and lumps in his urine, he was admitted to Valley Medical at 3 a.m. The pain was immense. It was only then, and only because he was NO LONGER on Private Insurance, that the doctors imeediately ran a CT scan with full blood work.

Many cancer patients and their loved ones know that long wait, (the excutiatingly long wait), when finally the diagnosis comes back. The on-call doctor said he found a growth during the scan, both in Stuart's colon and bladder. The surgeon and gastroenterologist set up a cystoscopy with a urologist, then a colonoscopy; and soon a radiologost for a contrast CT scan.

What we know now is, at the age of 38, Staurt has been diagnosed with Stage 2 colon AND bladder cancer; not even a year after marrying the love of his life, Andi Martin-Robinson.

Valley Medical isn't accepting any new patients in their gastroenterology department, Stuart must wait until his Medi-Cal starts in a week to even GET a colonoscopy! In the meanwhile, while he can not be out and working, he and his wife are struggling to make ends meet on one income.

What I am asking for is support for my friend. To help his family get through this. This money will hopefully help them to stay on their feet and not loose their house. They have worked so hard to make it this far. Their house is small, but it is home.

My friend has been there for me so many times over the years, and he has been there for so many other people. He gives and loves everyone he meets without question. Thank you for your donations. We will definitely be giving you updates on this as time progresses. And please know, should all funds not be used, they will be returned with much gratitude.

Much love and many blessings to you all!
