<div>Realistically, the gap in quality mental health care for marginalized people will only continue to grow here in Texas especially with new rules about cultural competency &amp; diversity being released in all the mental health care regulations.

<div>As an expert in serving through a mental health equity lens, my practice stands firmly supported by the data and research by persons from marginalized groups which supports the needs of therapy and mental health to acknowledge and lift up voices that have been censored, suppressed, and denied for generations.

<div>We offer care for persons who previously have had limited access to culturally responsive care and we support those in the mental health field, and those going through their clinical training, who can help to fill the gaps of representation in all mental health spaces.

<div>My practice offers affordable sessions to underinsured and lower income clients by offering sessions through counselor interns who are under my training. Our counselor interns are master’s level counseling program interns who are completing their internship hours to qualify for state licensure after graduation.

<div>To continue providing this care, I am currently supplementing these services with a significant loss to business revenue. I do not currently take a salary. In the long term, my business model profits will be able to support continued low-cost services through counselor interns and I will continue my searches for grants, awards, and sustainable funding to cover all the gaps.

<div>However, honestly, I’m just not there yet as the practice is only six months old. Although I can change my approach to only focus on a pure profit-model, giving back to our community is important for myself, the mental health field, and for our communities affected by systemic barriers. I am not one to ever ask for assistance…and if I want to continue being able to support these types of endeavors, I am humbly reaching out for help!

<div>So, while I work through securing long term and sustainable funding, I am opening this GoFundMe Campaign to raise funds that we can use to continue to operate and provide much-needed services for our community members.

<div><strong>What will the funds be used for? </strong>

<div>All donated funds will go directly to cover the tangible costs of offering services. The time I spend mentoring and building these clinicians in training is how I give back to the clinical community and my training, time, and energy are given out of my passion to help bring great future clinicians to the community.

<li>To offer these low-cost services our overhead is $4,140.00  each semester [$1035.00 per month x 4 months].
</li>
<li>For the next two semesters (through August 2025) our client demand to fill caseloads for three interns will cost $16,560.00 [2 semesters x $4,140.00].
</li>
<li>However we are fundraising for only a portion of their expenses!
</li>
<li>Any funds raised over the $8,000.00 goal will go directly towards supporting our interns while they continue to give their time back to the community in their learning process and to open opportunities to increase their available sessions.
