Yesterday, September 19th, my life changed in an instant. My house burned down, and my son and I lost everything. Along with losing our home, I also lost my vehicle, which has made an already heartbreaking situation even harder to face. We also lost all of our pets in the fire, and that grief has been devastating on top of everything else. I am a single mother, and while I am usually very stubborn about asking for help, the shock of all of this has left me at a complete loss for what steps to take next.

 Right now, I am trying to focus on what my son and I need most to begin rebuilding. The support from this fundraiser will help us find new housing, replace my vehicle so I can get back and forth to work, and recover important documents like birth certificates, Social Security cards, and passports. More than anything, I am just hoping for a safe place for us, reliable transportation, and some sense of normalcy again after losing so much so suddenly.
